What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead the Legal and Company Secretarial function, covering property, commercial, regulatory, governance and compliance.
* Provide pragmatic, business‑focused legal advice across contracts, disputes and strategic matters.
* Support the Board and Committees with governance, documentation and meeting preparation.
* Oversee data protection and GDPR compliance, including training and risk mitigation.
* Manage relationships with external law firms, auditors and regulatory bodies (FCA, CMA).
* Administer insurance portfolios including Employer Liability, Personal Injury and Public Liability.
* Collaborate with the investor company General Counsel on strategic corporate matters.
* Lead and mentor a high‑performing legal and governance team.
What You’ll Bring
* Significant post‑qualification experience in commercial law, ideally within financial services or regulated sectors.
* Proven Company Secretary experience with governance and compliance support for Boards and Committees.
* Strong background in data protection and GDPR, with practical implementation experience.
* Experience managing insurance portfolios and supporting compliance functions.
* Qualified Solicitor (UK jurisdiction preferred); additional qualifications in Company Secretarial practice (e.g. ICSA/CGI) are advantageous.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
* High professional integrity, with a genuine interest in protecting people’s futures.
