Head of Compliace & MLRO London Hybrid We’re working with a well-established, full-service firm ni central London that’s looking to bring on board an experienced MLRO / Head of Compliance to take ownership of the firm’s regulatory framework and day-to-day compliance operations.This is not a tick-box compliance role. It’s a visible, influential position with genuine autonomy, direct access to leadership, and responsibility for building and owning the firm’s compliance and AML framework.The Role?Reporting into senior leadership, you’ll take full responsibility for the firm’s compliance and AML function, acting as a key adviser on regulatory risk and governance.
* Leading the firm’s compliance and AML strategy
* Acting as MLRO, with oversight of AML risk, controls, and reporting
* Advising the Board and senior management on regulatory matters
* Ensuring ongoing compliance with SRA Standards & Regulations, AML legislation, and UK GDPR
* Designing, embedding, and evolving compliance and AML policies and procedures
* Acting as the escalation point for regulatory and AML issues
* Delivering firm-wide compliance and AML training
* Keeping ahead of regulatory change and driving implementation
* Carrying out audits, file reviews, and risk assessments
* Producing management information and maintaining statutory registers
About you?
* Proven experience in a lead compliance role within a law firm
* Strong, practical knowledge of SRA regulations
* Deep understanding of AML legislation and risk-based approaches
* Sound knowledge of Data Protection / UK GDPR
* Comfortable operating at senior management level
* Confident communicator with a pragmatic, commercial mindset
