Role Purpose:
The People Assistant is a generalist role providing administrative assistance within the People Team.
The role includes involvement in all aspects of HR administration: employee relations, employee engagement, training and development, analytics, resourcing, performance, wellbeing and policies.
The People Assistant also provides general guidance and support on low-level day-to-day employee queries and plays an important role in the onboarding of new talent: collecting documents and information, welcoming new staff, delivering HR induction sessions and generally supporting the delivery of an excellent onboarding experience.
The People Team's aim is to promote HR as a positive and supportive influence on the business versus an entity utilised when things aren't going well for employees or the company.

Key Duties:
* Support, when required, during the recruitment life cycle including assessment, selection and interviewing
* Work with the Internal Recruiter and Corporate Trainer to ensure a seamless onboarding experience, managing the onboarding process for new hires to ensure a smooth induction to the business
* Process all new starters in the relevant company platforms
* Administration of employment contracts, contract changes, ER related letters and documents, and all other HR admin as required, including celebratory messages
* Manage DBS checks: new starters and annual checks of all employees
* Manage company health scheme, including any promotional comms, and other company benefits
* Keep employee trackers and personnel files up to date
* Support engagement initiatives in line with the company's annual events calendar
* Be at the front line of HR support, responding to queries or issues that employees have and managing their expectations
* Support PAM with absence management measures: distribution of absence messages, tracking absence levels, drafting relevant letters and supporting managers to interpret the policy
* Provide assistance to employees on using the HR platform: creating 'how to' guides and an FAQ sheet
* Maintain the HR platform: ensuring all employee details are inputted and updated, and documents accessible are relevant
* Support PAM with production of reports as required
* Liaise with managers, when required, regarding training needs, including annual data security training
* Manage the allocation of laptops and equipment supplied to employees
* Support PAM with reviewing company policies and providing training/awareness sessions to managers
* Build productive relationships with managers and attend appropriate meetings as required
* Ensure all actions are completed discreetly and all issues treated with complete confidentiality
* Be knowledgeable and stay up to date with HR policies and procedures

Person Specification:
Essential:
* Ability to work using initiative
* Excellent record keeping and detail orientated
* excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Previous office work experience such as HR Assistant or similar role using HR management system
* Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
* Excellent customer service skills
* Excellent PC skills across all Microsoft packages
* Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships
* Willingness to learn
* Be flexible and adaptable with a pro-active-can-do attitude
* Be diplomatic and discreet, is trusted to deal with confidential issues
* positive and hardworking
Desirable:
* BSc in Human Resources or relevant field
* Proven experience coordinating/supporting HR initiatives
