We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Assembly Fitter based in Bedford to join one of our clients on a full-time temporary basis. Summary of the Mechanical Assembly Fitter
Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 per annumLocation: BedfordType of Contract: TemporaryHours: Monday – Thursday 8:15am - 4:45pm, Fridays 8:15am - 1:45pmOur client is a global engineering company that has seen continuous growth for several decades.
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Assembly Fitter
* Assemble various mechanical and electrical components.
* Produce completed pump assemblies.
* Carry out stripping/preparation/termination of various diameters of electrical cable and continuity testing.
* General fitting/assembly operations.
* Record and complete dimensional and quality/test check paperwork.
* Operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks.
* Loading and unloading of vehicles.
Requirements for a successful Mechanical Assembly Fitter
* Mechanical Assembly/fitter experience within a heavy equipment and manufacturing environment.
* Strong working knowledge of industrial pumps.
* Experience working in a medium to heavy mechanical engineering operation.
* Working to production deadlines and assigned operation hours.
* Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
* Overhead crane and forklift licence.
* A keen eye for detail.
