Senior Electrical Engineer Cannock £44,000 - £52,000 We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You will take full ownership of electrical design and production engineering activities, supporting new product introduction (NPI), providing accurate manufacturing data, and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and delivery. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our Engineering Manager, production teams, and apprentices to deliver innovative, efficient, and compliant solutions. You’ll be a technical authority in your field and play a key role in driving continuous improvement across SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) metrics. Key Responsibilities * Deliver complete and accurate electrical designs and production engineering information in line with manufacturing schedules. * Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept through to production release. * Ensure designs comply with UL508a, LVD, EMC, EN60204 and other relevant standards. * Lead by example through technical mentoring of apprentices and team members. * Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis, corrective action, and lean principles (5S, Kaizen, 8D). * Support safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with company and legislative requirements. * Collaborate across functions to achieve company performance targets for quality, delivery, and productivity. * Maintain accurate documentation, including BOMs, Item Cards, ECNs, and engineering data systems. About You You are an experienced, hands-on engineer with strong electrical design capability and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes. You take accountability for results, communicate clearly, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and continuous improvement are valued. Essential: * Minimum HNC/NVQ Level 4 in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. * Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in electrical panel design or production engineering. * Strong CAD skills and the ability to translate customer specifications into manufacturable solutions. * Experience supporting manufacturing operations and NPI projects. Desirable: * Project management experience or formal qualification (e.g. Prince2, PMP). * Experience with lean manufacturing, process improvement, or continuous improvement methodologies
