Advert Job overview An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a permanent and full-time band 7 Physiotherapist within the Integrated Independence Team Rapid Response Service.
We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic and experienced Physiotherapist to be part of leading the A&E and community rapid response service within the Integrated Independence Team.
The Integrated Independence Team is an integrated health and social care service provided jointly by Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and London Borough of Hackney. The team places the user at the heart of the care planning process and aims to promote independence, deliver outcome-focused care, and provide a seamless journey through the care system.
The team provides rapid response, intermediate care therapy, and reablement services and consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychotherapists, Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Consultant Geriatricians, Social Workers, Independence Coordinators, Independence and Specialist Independence Assistants, and Administration staff.
Main duties of the job This post involves leading the physiotherapists within the rapid response teams and providing senior physiotherapy assessment and treatment of complex patients within A&E, short stay unit, and patients referred from the community in order to prevent admission to hospital and promote early discharge.
In doing this you will work as part of a strong multidisciplinary team, within an interdisciplinary working model, to facilitate hospital discharge and prevent acute admission.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience as a physiotherapist in an Acute Therapy or Rapid Response setting. You should have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills.
You will be encouraged to develop your clinical, teaching, and management skills through opportunities within the team and in the wider organisation. You will have support from the IIT Urgent Care Lead and experienced staff across the team. Peer supervision and in-service training are carried out regularly, and you will have an annual appraisal. There is excellent support for personal development and opportunities to develop the service in line with best practice.

Person specification Skills Ability to assess clients with complex physical disabilities
Able to manage a clinical caseload and prioritise as required.
Able to problem-solve, plan, and manage time effectively
Physiotherapy leadership skills
Experience Post graduate experience in the rapid response physical field of Physiotherapy.
Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
Experience of working in a community rapid response setting
Experience of physiotherapy leadership
Other Demonstrates an understanding of Trust Values
Knowledge Able to critically reflect and appraise own and junior staff performance and identify development/training needs
Managing projects that provide the desired outcomes
Staff and student management including appraisal and clinical supervision
Education / Qualifications Degree/diploma in Physiotherapy recognised by the CSP
HCPC registration
