Role: Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Project Engineer

Key Objectives
1. Take ownership and responsibility for the execution of all assigned work
2. Define fit for purpose engineering solutions
3. Deliver a budget/estimate, schedule, multi-disciplined detailed design, detailed scope(s) of work, specifications, commissioning plans, training plans, final documentation for all assigned projects
4. Support the project manager(s) with the definition of programmes and budgets
5. Support the project manager(s) with monitoring and reporting of project performance and change management
6. Ensure all work is executed in compliance with all company and client processes
7. Support the successful execution of assigned projects; safely, and in line with specification, budget and programme
8. Support and promote all company and client site directives – HSEQ, best practice, innovations, continual improvement
9. Development and retain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders
10. Maintain up to date knowledge and competence to support the role and to align to client’s and industries’ requirements and directives
11. Strive for efficient delivery via initiatives such as “right first time” and “fit for purpose”
12. Communicate and cooperate with and support all affected parties in order to support efficient and effective project delivery
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Prepare overall project costs and schedules
2. Support project manager with development of the project programme
3. Contribute to process risk assessments (PRA’s)
4. Liaise with construction teams to gather information – estimates, methods of working, constructability, change
5. Coordinate the design process and team(s) activities, and ensure input from stakeholders - customers, operations, constructors, subcontractors, suppliers, maintenance
6. Facilitate a team of multi-discipline designers and engineers in the development of a fully detailed and approved detail design, ensuring all required aspects are considered (standards, directives, specifications and processes)
7. Manage the procurement and expedition of equipment and materials, including the review and technical approval of specifications, purchase requisitions, acceptance criteria, supplier documentation and validation of performance
8. Liaise with planning dept to provide accurate resource and schedule information
9. Facilitate technical and project reviews and approvals
10. Manage the production, issuing and control of project documentation deliverables, including final documentation packs
11. Support the construction and commissioning phases of the project
12. Manage the technical query process
13. Define the commissioning and training (operation and maintenance) procedures
14. Review critical spares requirements and manage initial stores inventory
15. Take responsibility of the project(s) hand over and completion
16. Collate, manage and report key indicator data – programme, cost, change, quality HSEQ engagement (audit, TBT, etc)
Qualifications and Experience Required
Degree / HND or equivalent in a Control &/or Instrumentation &/or Electrical Engineering discipline
HSEQ qualification (i.e. IOSH)
Preferable Level 4 Project Control / Management Qualification
CompEx – ExF (foundation) or Ex01-04 (Gas & Vapours), Ex05-06 (Dust), or Ex12 (Application Design Engineers)
Functional Safety, IEC61508 – TUV or equivalent
BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations - C&G2382-15 or equivalent
CDM regulations
