The Operations Manager will play a key role in helping our client's business to continue to grow and succeed.
My client is looking for an ambitious and driven candidate to join their team. Candidates must have full flexibility with hours as weekend working, and early morning starts will be required. Dependant on business needs this role will be working 45/50 hours a week, in busier periods it could be more and in quieter periods less.
The role will be fast-paced and varied, getting involved and supervising in all areas of the business.
The Warehouse Operations Manager Role
Reporting to the Directors, you will be responsible for:
* Providing strategic leadership and direction for all operational activities, including warehousing, distribution, strategy, continuous improvement and projects.
* Overseeing daily warehouse activities including goods in, inventory control, picking, packing and dispatch.
* Managing an established team of 7, keeping up to date with HR and Employment Law legislation and driving a culture of high performance.
* Being a responsible key holder, opening and closing the warehouse regularly.
* Reporting on KPIs relating to productivity, cost efficiency and safety.
* Developing and implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency.
* Project management, supporting with rolling out new projects across the business. Working closely with the Directors to develop business plans and create long-term company strategy.
* Analysing operational data, keeping up to date with industry trends and changing markets.
* Ensuring health and safety regulations are adhered to at all time.
* Planning marketing activities such as digital strategy, content creation and trade shows.
Candidate Profile
* Have experience in a similar role managing warehouse operations, ideally within a fast-paced high volume distribution environment.
* Demonstrate a track record of improving efficiency.
* A commercial mindset, drive and ambition to succeed with full flexibility on working hours over 7 days a week.
* Proven success in scaling operations and leading change.
* Excellent people management with strong HR/Employment law knowledge.
* Educated to degree level (desirable) A level (essential)
* Digital Strategy and Content Creation experience, using Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
* Experience of working towards and achieving set KPI's, as well as motivating staff to do so.
* A UK driving license, ideally clean.
* Experience within the floral industry would be advantageous.
* Must be adaptable to work in all areas of the business with a professional but "hands on" approach, being able to work in a fast-paced manual environment, which will be quite physical, as and when required.
