What is a Formwork Shuttering Carpenter?
A shuttering carpenter is responsible for creating formwork or shuttering, which are temporary structures used on site and are essential components of the reinforced concrete construction process. Formwork refers to temporary or permanent moulds into which concrete is poured to form the concrete frame elements and complete a building's substructure.
The Laing O'Rourke Apprenticeship Programme - What can you expect?
Our Trade and Technical Apprenticeship programme is designed for individuals passionate about construction and engineering. It combines college education with work-based training, allowing you to develop your skills and earn a recognised qualification while working on some of the UK's most exciting projects.
The programme provides a formal college education, leading to Level 2 and/or 3 apprenticeship standards in your chosen vocation. You will gain broad technical skills through on-the-job training, supported by our qualified workforce and construction professionals. A dedicated mentor and approved training provider will work closely with you, providing regular feedback on your progress.
You will also need to meet the following criteria:
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Full mobility to enable travel to various project locations as needed
