Dron & Dickson is looking for an experienced Technical Recruiter to support onshore engineering operations and project delivery across England. This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role, responsible for sourcing, assessing and onboarding technicians and engineering personnel to meet both business‑as‑usual and project demand.
This role is focused on direct technical recruitment, building strong talent pipelines, ensuring fast and compliant mobilisation, and reducing reliance on external agencies. Success is measured by speed, quality, compliance, cost awareness and candidate experience — not sales or commission targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver end‑to‑end recruitment for technician and engineering roles (permanent and contract) in line with BAU and project requirements
* Source candidates through direct channels including LinkedIn, job boards, referrals and trade networks
* Build and maintain a deployment‑ready pipeline for core technical disciplines
* Screen and shortlist candidates against technical, safety, compliance and project requirements
* Coordinate interviews and technical assessments through to offer stage
* Manage offers, contracts and start dates, working closely with Engineering Services, Logistics and People & Development
* Ensure fast, compliant onboarding including right to work, references, IR35 and GDPR requirements
* Support targeted recruitment campaigns during project ramps and peak delivery periods
* Maintain a strong candidate experience with clear, timely communication throughout the process
* Track recruitment activity and pipeline metrics such as time to hire and candidate flow
* Provide insights on labour availability, skills shortages and market trends to support workforce planning
* Recruit within agreed budgets and rate parameters, supporting ongoing agency avoidance
Skills, Experience & Attributes
* Proven experience in technical, engineering or operational recruitment
* Hands‑on direct sourcing experience (not agency‑only)
* Experience recruiting technicians, trades or operational engineers
* Strong knowledge of recruitment compliance including right to work and GDPR
* Ability to manage multiple roles and pipelines simultaneously
* Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
* Confident communicator with candidates and internal stakeholders
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Background in engineering services, oil & gas, offshore, infrastructure or construction
* Experience recruiting for project‑based or rotational workforces
* Knowledge of IR35 and contractor engagement models
* CIPD Level 3 or equivalent practical experience
HSEQ Responsibilities
* Comply with all Dron & Dickson policies, procedures and management systems
* Ensure recruitment and onboarding activities meet health, safety and compliance requirements
* Act ethically and with integrity in all recruitment activity
* Support submission of required HSEQ documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
