We are looking for a dynamic and problem solving Resource & Associate Manager to join our Resourcing team and work collaboratively across the TPX Consulting team. Your core responsibility will be to manage a number of accounts from a resourcing perspective, working alongside the project lead and other capability Heads Of to ensure the right team is allocated to new and live pieces of work as well as planning for future work.
This role also requires you to grow and nurture our community of associates, to build a strong and successful team for our project delivery. A key focus will be the successful implementation and ongoing management of our Professional Services Automation (PSA) project, leveraging it to optimise resource allocation and financial performance.
This position sits within the Resourcing Team and reports directly to the Head of Resourcing & Operations.
Assigning available employees to projects in accordance with their skill sets, previous experience and availability, with a strong focus on ensuring project readiness for on-time starts.
Working actively to optimise overall utilisation within the consultancy division, reporting on any issues and supporting on any remediation, directly contributing to the efficient recognition of project revenue.
Build and maintain key internal stakeholder relationships for project requirements and act as one of the key points of contact. Understand what is required and when, keep abreast of future requirements and pipeline resources accordingly, ensuring a proactive approach to resourcing that supports financial objectives.
Project Resourcing - working in close collaboration with our Delivery teams and internal stakeholders to create and shape project teams, ensuring timely staffing that drives project initiation and revenue milestones.
Use TPXs network of associates and when appropriate, work collaboratively with the Group recruitment team and PSL agencies for external resources.
Manage resource conflicts with a clear understanding of the impact on project timelines and revenue recognition
Own, grow and nurture our community of associates; Establish/manage the deployable skills database, capturing relevant skills and capabilities, experience and delivery as well as availability and project history. This database will be instrumental in supporting the PSA project and improving resourcing efficiency.
Recruitment agency liaison (where appropriate) + PSL management. Actively participate in the implementation and ongoing optimisation of the PSA project, ensuring its successful adoption and integration into daily resourcing operations.
Budget: Work towards an agreed Gross Margin target by ensuring optimal resource utilisation and timely project starts.
Work with both TPXimpact teams and our associate network. Coordinate resource planning across multi-disciplinary delivery teams, drawing from both permanent TPXimpact employee capacity and a flexible associate network. The work involves managing short and medium term capacity across simultaneous projects with varying scopes, durations, and technical requirements. Youll ensure the right people are matched to the right projects to deliver value and meet client needs.
Solving resourcing clashes Youll be responsible for proactively identifying and resolving resourcing conflicts, such as overlapping statements of work, limited specialist availability, or changes in project timelines.
Change management requirements: You will play a role in managing change of project scope - this will involve adapting resourcing plans quickly to help teams adjust.
Build relationships with our internal staff, stakeholders and our associate networks. Depending on the account, this will also include building client relationships.
Ensure projects are resourced efficiently to ensure they can start on time with the right skills and sufficient capacity over the short to medium term. This directly impacts the company's ability to initiate projects and recognise revenue as planned.
Software consultancy experience and an understanding of the digital landscape
Recruitment and / or resource management experience
Experience of successfully building and maintaining a network of associates
Experience in delivering digital projects and products, and the skills and roles needed across such projects
Critical thinking, analytical and forecasting skills, particularly in relation to project start dates, revenue projections and gross margin
Conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills, with a focus on mitigating delays that could impact project initiation and revenue
Passion for building, managing and developing multidisciplinary digital teams
Ability to use technology (analytics tools, CRM, PSA or resource management software)
Ensure that resource allocation and management decisions align with the overall purpose and goals of the consultancy.
Inspire team members by communicating the purpose behind projects and how their contributions make a difference.
Ownership: Take responsibility for resource management decisions and their outcomes, ensuring transparency and integrity in all actions.
Be dependable in delivering on commitments, ensuring that projects are staffed appropriately and on time.
Performance Monitoring: Implement systems to track and report on resource utilisation and project progress, holding oneself and others accountable for results.
Excellence: Strive for excellence in resource management practices, continuously seeking to improve processes and outcomes.
Attention to Detail: Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in planning and managing resources to ensure high-quality project delivery.
Maintain open and honest communication with all stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is informed and engaged in resource management decisions
Resource Management Software: Proficiency in using resource management platforms to track and allocate resources, support in implementation and adoption of our PSA.
Data Analysis : Ability to analyse data related to resource utilisation, availability, and project requirements to make informed decisions, including forecasting for project starts and revenue recognition.
Knowledge of effective onboarding practices to integrate new associates smoothly into the team and ensure they are equipped to contribute to projects from day one, enabling prompt project starts.
Advanced skills in using spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and resource planning, especially for pre- and post-PSA implementation analysis.
Database Management: Understanding of database systems to manage and retrieve resource-related information efficiently.
Networking: Ability to build and maintain a network of potential candidates and industry contacts to support ongoing recruitment efforts.
Budgeting and Financial Acumen: Knowledge of budgeting principles to manage resource costs and ensure projects stay within financial constraints. Keeping abreast of industry trends and salary benchmarks to ensure competitive recruitment strategies
Communication Platforms: Proficiency in using communication and collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams or Slack to facilitate effective communication among project teams.
Digital Transformation: Understanding the principles of digital transformation and how digital consultancy services can support clients in achieving their transformation goals.
