The Opportunity:
Long Term Futures are seeking a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Support Assistant to join a well-regarded primary or secondary school in the Westminster area.
You will play a key role in supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and overall personal development, working closely with pastoral leads, safeguarding teams, and teaching staff.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and thrive in a supportive school environment.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small-group pastoral support for pupils
Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
Assist with attendance monitoring and engagement strategies
Work collaboratively with safeguarding leads, SENCOs, and external agencies
Maintain accurate pastoral records and contribute to support plans
Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment
Build trusted, positive relationships with pupils and familiesRequirements:
Experience working with children or young people in a pastoral, youth, or education setting
Strong communication, listening, and de-escalation skills
Empathetic, resilient, and professional approach
Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and pupil wellbeing
