Job Description:
Global Business Leader for Hydrogen Electrolysers Background: The green hydrogen market is set to grow significantly over the next 10-20 years, requiring substantial investment in new gH2 production equipment. European governments and the EU are providing significant financial support for green hydrogen initiatives, with increasing activity in China, India, and the Middle East & Africa. Schneider Electric is committed to investing in this expanding market from both Energy Management and Industrial Automation perspectives, and you will play an integral role in our hydrogen task force. Our Power & Grid team hosts the task force, while Energy and Chemicals focus on sales for large operators, and the Industrial Automation incubation team targets OEMs. There is significant potential for our EcoStruxure Power and Process solutions at the plant level and for power, control, safety, and software at the electrolyser level. This role will primarily focus on electrolysers, which can account for up to 50% of the overall expenditure. Although Siemens currently supplies many electrolyser OEMs with automation solutions, they also offer complete electrolysers through Siemens Energy. Our goal is to encourage key OEMs to adopt Schneider Electric solutions, collaborating with End User sales teams to secure fully integrated Power & Automation plants. We have strong support from senior leadership at Schneider to pursue co-innovation agreements with key OEMs. Overall objective: Establish Schneider Electric as the preferred partner for several electrolyser OEMs, encouraging them to promote their equipment integrated with our solutions to End Users. Additionally, we aim to map the broader OEM supply chain for green hydrogen plants and position Schneider Electric as the preferred, easy-to-integrate power and automation partner. Key missions: Develop reference projects to strengthen Schneider Electric's position in the evolving electrolyser market and support the anticipated growth of green hydrogen capacity. Lead from an automation and AVEVA perspective while integrating power solutions when practical and beneficial. Understand evolving market needs and collaborate with the gH2 task force to influence Lines of Business and Go-To-Market strategies, ensuring we deliver the right solutions and support mechanisms. Drive OEM business development efforts focusing on the top 10-12 players in Europe and North America, aiming for collaboration and co-innovation status with several partners, leveraging our capabilities in Power & Automation and AVEVA. Engage with C-Level executives and support local operations teams to foster collaboration. Work with our Indian team to develop a strategy to capture market share in the rapidly evolving Indian market. Collaborate with the Chinese team to promote Schneider Electric solutions in Longi and Peric export projects. Optimize the GH2 Electrolyser sales tools and share them with Operations teams. Qualifications & abilities: Extensive experience in business development and awareness of hydrogen technologies. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. An experienced professional with a background in senior-level operations. Someone who can discuss business outcomes with other leaders. A visionary who can strongly influence and inspire others. An individual who can quickly grasp the critical aspects of processes. A strong understanding of automation solutions and awareness of electrical offerings. Someone who can create actionable plans and collaborate across Schneider Electric. A coach who can empower and drive local sales teams to succeed. Key Objectives – : Collaborate with local sales account managers to establish relationships at the board level with at least 75% of the recognized top 10 electrolyser OEMs. Understand the needs of OEMs and End Users in this market, leveraging our Industrial Automation and Energy Management offerings to develop strategies for winning over OEMs. Foster relationships with power and automation specialists, encouraging commitment to Schneider Electric technology and co-innovation initiatives to offer comprehensive solutions. Engage local Industry and Energy Management Business Units through joint selling efforts, education, and communication to position Schneider Electric as a key player in the electrolyser market. Map the broader OEM supply chain for green hydrogen and work with country teams to create a pursuit plan. As we establish partnerships with several OEMs and see an increase in End User projects, collaborate with End User teams to connect OEMs and End Users, securing Schneider Electric sites as reference cases for future projects. To Achieve These Goals, You Will Need: Quickly gain a deep understanding of the hydrogen market and supply chain. Conduct board-level meetings to influence and develop innovative strategies. Assess market opportunities and identify keys to success, including a business case for investments. Fully engage and collaborate with the green hydrogen task force. Coach local sales teams to identify and close opportunities. Develop and monitor the opportunity pipeline. At Schneider Electric, Diversity & Inclusion is at the heart of our organisation, it's an integral part of our history, culture, and identity. We recognise that embracing diversity unlocks innovation and creativity and fosters collaboration. We want our employees to reflect the diversity of our communities and the customers we serve. As a result, our teams are stronger to drive the company's future. We are proudly participating in the Disability Confident Program offering support to people in the workplace who consider themselves living with a disability.
