Fire Extinguisher Service Technician

While our operational resources are primarily based around London, we proudly offer national coverage through our reactive delivery model.
Our Fire Extinguisher Service Technicians
Carry out the servicing and maintenance of Portable fire extinguishers. All equipment will be provided to allow high standards of service, installation and maintenance of Portable fire extinguishers in line with the Current British Standard Guidelines.
1. Install, Service & Maintain Portable Fire Extinguishers
2. Work in line with current British standards and customer requirements.
3. Plan and complete call visits within your designated region, ensuring maximum efficiency and best use of resources.
4. Build professional and effective relationships with a wide client base.
5. Be accountable for ensuring effective area planning to maximise travel time and time on customer premises.
6. Carry out scheduled & reactive maintenance in a timely, efficient & cost-effective manner.
7. Effectively communicate with our customers to ensure a good understanding of system/equipment status.
8. Liaise with Service Administrators to ensure the needs of our customers are met.
9. Be responsible for the management & security of vehicle stock, tools & equipment.
10. Carry out full surveys of customer sites to assess for fire equipment and signage
11. Approach all training positively & professionally complete all duties.
12. Travel and some stopovers are expected during the training period and busier months.
Who We're Looking For
As well as having all the usual attributes of a great employee, such as; a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, well presented and professional at all times, ability to work alone and as part of a team….. For this specific opportunity, we are looking for candidates who offer:
13. Experience in fire extinguisher servicing, hold a qualification to prove competence and have good knowledge BS parts 3 and 8.
14. Technical background in the Mechanical Fire industry.
15. Experience of front-line customer service.
16. Previous experience of maintaining fire extinguishers is essential.
17. Qualified to BAFE / FETA or equivalent, and ongoing refresher training every three years with certificated evidence.
18. Ability to work unsupervised with the capability to problem solve.
19. Flexibility to travel for work and training when required
20. Experience in other Mechanical Fire Systems would be advantageous.
21. Must be computer literate and be conversant with email, Word, Excel and be able to work with a PDA/iPad/smartphone.
22. Must have a basic knowledge of maths and be able to calculate fire ratings.
23. Must be able to create quotes and recommendations to send to the customer.
24. Full driving licence.
