Leeds GP Confederation invites applications for qualified MSK FCP Physiotherapists to work on a self‑employed basis with opportunities to work both remotely and/or face to face within multiple PCNs in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Job Summary
The role is for experienced MSK clinicians with FCP sign‑off, maintaining high CPD and current MSK practice knowledge, supported by a dedicated MSK Professional Lead.
Key Responsibilities
* First contact assessment of undifferentiated MSK conditions within primary care settings, both remote and face to face, providing differential diagnosis, first line management, initiating investigations and onward referrals as clinically reasoned.
* Be the first point of contact for expert clinical assessment and diagnosis of patients presenting with MSK conditions via the EA service, including complex and multi‑pathology cases, providing comprehensive treatment support using advanced clinical skills.
* Work independently, without daily in‑person supervision, to assess, diagnose, triage and manage a caseload of PCN registered patients and liaise with the EA MSK Professional Lead as appropriate.
* Develop integrated and tailored care programmes in partnership with patients, including shared decision‑making, assessment of patient activation, referral to rehabilitation, social prescribing and the use of physiotech exercise programmes with supportive SMS.
* Manage diagnostic testing, including x‑rays, MRI, ultrasound and blood tests, interpreting results within the context of clinical assessment.
* Make decisions about safe and effective patient care in unpredictable situations, including inadvertent or incomplete data.
* Contribute to service improvement, including developing referral guidelines, supporting preventive strategies, and participating in peer review and audit.
* Provide and receive clinical supervision and maintain professional governance, including contractual and statutory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
* UK professional registration, current and in good standing.
* First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP) sign‑off.
* Experience as a senior MSK physiotherapist with remote and face‑to‑face competency.
* Ability to work remotely and in multiple PCNs and deliver services that meet NHS standards.
Contract and Working Pattern
Contract: Bank. Duration: 6 months. Pay: £36.60 an hour. Working pattern: Part‑time, flexible working.
