Location: Near Chipping Norton / Stow-on-the-Wold / Moreton-in-Marsh
Salary: £36,000–£40,000 + exceptional tronc (£8,000–£10,000 typical)
Contract: Full-time | Permanent
A fantastic opportunity to join the opening team of a beautifully refurbished Cotswold country pub, now reopening under the ownership of one of the region’s most respected independent groups — known for operating acclaimed pubs with a strong reputation for standards, seasonality, and hospitality.
The site is already attracting significant interest ahead of launch, and the kitchen will be led by a talented Head Chef with background from a leading, nationally recognised Cotswolds gastropub. This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated Senior Sous Chef who wants to help set culture, standards, and momentum from day one.

The Role
As Senior Sous Chef, you will play a key role in establishing a fresh, ambitious kitchen in its relaunch phase. You will:
* Support the Head Chef in leading a small, quality-driven brigade
* Assist in setting up all kitchen systems, prep structures, and section standards
* Contribute to menu development rooted in seasonal, modern British cooking
* Ensure consistent, high-level execution across all services
* Help build a strong, positive, collaborative kitchen culture
* Maintain excellent organisation, stock control, and food safety procedures
* Lead by example in a hands-on, solutions-focused manner

What We’re Looking For
* Experience as a Senior Sous or strong Sous Chef within quality-led gastropubs, 1–2 Rosette kitchens, or ambitious fresh-food environments
* Confident leadership skills with the ability to train, support, and motivate junior chefs
* A passion for seasonal British produce and flavour-driven, modern cooking
* Calm, reliable, and organised under pressure
* Someone who thrives in an opening environment and enjoys shaping standards
