About The Role

Location: Swaythling, Southampton (moving to Nursling, Southampton in August 2025)
Days & Hours: Permanent and Bank Hours available.
Term time: Monday-Friday - 7am–8.30am and Tuesday afternoon – 2.45pm-7.45pm. From September, hours may increase to 3 afternoons per week, with ad-hoc hours to cover absences. These hours can be shared between 2 people.
Typical bank shifts include: Afternoons 2.45pm-7.45pm, Saturdays 4-6 hours (e.g., 10am-4pm), occasional Friday or Saturday evenings (6.30pm-11pm), and school holiday hours.
School holidays: Full days, Monday-Friday between 8.00am-6.00pm. Saturday shifts as required.
Pay: £15.00 per hour on weekdays and £17.00 per hour on weekends.
Driver required? Essential. Must have own car, business insurance, and mileage paid. Will be using own vehicle to transport Bara and possibly her wheelchair adapted vehicle in the long term.
Essential Experience: Working with children with disabilities, personal care, and record keeping.
Desirable: Supporting clients in their homes, interest in therapy.
Accommodation (while on duty): 3-bedroom family home.

About Bara
Bara, born in 2018, lives with her family. She has Cerebral Palsy affecting all limbs, requires support for transfers, and uses a specialist buggy outdoors. She communicates needs, is making progress with verbal language, and is supported by therapists. Your role involves personal care, supporting activities, outings, and occasional babysitting.
This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support Bara and her family. Patience, understanding, warmth, and effective communication are essential.

Additional support includes induction, training, supervision, and ongoing support from a Case Manager and HR.

About You
Ideal candidates will be female (due to personal care), experienced with Cerebral Palsy, signing (Makaton, Signalong, BSL), and comfortable working in Bara's home. Other qualities include empathy, professionalism, teamwork, confidentiality, communication skills, flexibility, and a full driving license.
