Senior Carer Co-production and Engagement Facilitator
We are looking for a motivated individual with lived experience of caring for a loved one to support co-production, engagement and involvement in adult mental health services across the West Midlands. The post is part of the Provider Collaborative Team and focuses on improving carer involvement and co-production in eating disorders care and perinatal mental health services.
Main duties
* Share relevant personal experiences and use insights from your journey as a carer to support other carers to feel heard and to share their experiences on a one-to-one and group basis.
* Lead on building a network of carers who want to share experiences to elicit change, with support and guidance from senior lived experience colleagues.
* Take responsibility for designated projects and for co-ordinating co-production opportunities, including supporting training and the production of relevant resources.
* Develop opportunities to engage and co-produce with carers.
* Facilitate and co-facilitate workshops to support co-production.
* Co-facilitate training sessions and attend in-person events to promote the lived experience network and available opportunities.
* Create communications and marketing materials; provide support and supervision to other members of the lived experience workforce.

Person specification
Essential
* Lived experience of providing care and support to a loved one in a personal/unpaid capacity.
* Understanding of co-production and shared decision-making.
* Experience of managing events, activities and training; ability to evidence co-produced working; and ability to build effective interpersonal relationships with diverse groups.
* Experience of planning, organising and scheduling activities in a pressured environment with changing priorities.
* Experience of working with people navigating recovery or mental health challenges from varied backgrounds and cultures.
Desirable
* HEE PSW training or equivalent knowledge of peer working; willingness to complete HEE accredited Peer Support Worker Training.
* Experience of NHS and/or third sector mental health organisations; examples of using carer lived experience in service development projects; experience supporting perinatal mental health or eating disorders.
Skills, knowledge & abilities
* Understanding of the challenges associated with mental health and the impact on individuals, carers and families.
* Experience working with people who access services and their loved ones in involvement and experience projects and facilitating meetings.
