Daily Rate: £89 - £108 (dependent on experience)
Are you passionate about supporting young people who face social, emotional, and behavioural challenges? We’re working with a brilliant specialist school in Northumberland to recruit a dedicated SEMH Support Assistant to join their team.
This school provides a supportive, nurturing environment for students aged 7 to 16 with additional social, emotional, and mental health needs. Many of these pupils have experienced disrupted education or difficult life events, and the focus here is firmly on helping them re-engage, build trust, and believe in themselves again.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
* Supporting teachers in delivering personalised, engaging lessons
* Helping children develop emotional regulation strategies and resilience
* Using calm, consistent, restorative approaches to manage behaviour
* Encouraging participation and celebrating progress, however small
Who We’re Looking For:
* Someone with experience supporting vulnerable children or young people
* A person who understands the impact of trauma, unmet needs, or disrupted learning
* Someone who stays calm under pressure and leads with empathy
* A real team player who enjoys working alongside other professionals
* Someone with a DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
