Job Title: QTS Tutor Secondary School (Oldham)

Job Type: Temporary | Part-Time | 20 hours per week (ASAP start)
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated QTS Tutor to work with secondary school students in Oldham who have severe Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will provide one-to-one tuition in Maths, English, or other core subjects, ensuring that students receive the support they need to thrive academically and emotionally.
This role requires a qualified teacher with proven experience in supporting students with severe SEN needs, and a commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored tuition in Maths, English, and/or other subjects to secondary school students with severe SEN needs.
Design and deliver individualised lesson plans that cater to the specific learning and emotional needs of each student.
Build strong, trusting relationships with students to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
Monitor student progress closely, adapting teaching methods to best suit individual needs.
Provide feedback to parents, carers, and relevant professionals on students progress and development.
Work closely with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to ensure that the individual needs of each student are met.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as a minimum qualification.
Proven experience working with secondary school students with severe SEN needs, including Autism, ADHD, or other complex learning needs.
Ability to develop and implement tailored lesson plans for students with a wide range of needs.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with students, parents, and school staff.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with a wide variety of SEN needs, including those requiring complex support.
Knowledge of additional SEN strategies and interventions.
Experience working in a secondary school setting with students who require individualised learning approaches.
