Clinical Case Manager - experienced in paediatrics and adults

London, The Wellington Hospital

This role is based fully on site
Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday, with a choice of 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm
Permanent contract
Salary: Competitive

We're looking for a Clinical Case Manager to join our Case Management Team at The Wellington Hospital.

This opportunity is suited to an experienced professional with extensive inpatient bedside nursing experience across adult and paediatric care, or a strong background within the healthcare insurance sector, who is looking to apply their expertise in a broader, system‑focused role.

This is a role for someone who wants to step away from the bedside while staying closely connected to patient care. Working at one of HCA Healthcare UK's flagship hospitals in London, you'll join a highly skilled and supportive team that plays a vital role in shaping safe, well‑coordinated patient journeys across both adult and paediatric services.

Our Case Management Team works at the intersection of clinical care, patient advocacy and system navigation. You'll support patients and families through complex pathways, working closely with consultants, multidisciplinary teams and third‑party payers to ensure care is appropriate, timely and well planned. The team is known for its collaborative approach, strong professional standards and commitment to putting patients at the centre of every decision.

As a Clinical Case Manager, you'll use your senior clinical knowledge to assess, plan and coordinate care from admission through to discharge. Your day‑to‑day work balances sound clinical judgement with communication and problem solving, helping ensure patients receive the right care in the right place while supporting effective use of resources.

Above all else, we're committed to the care and improvement of human life. It's this guiding vision that influences everything we do at HCA UK. From the CEO to the colleagues on the floor, we all have a part to play in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Others may think this is just a role in the Case Management Team, but to us, you'll be part of a wider team with a unique sense of purpose, one that helps improve lives on a daily basis.

What you'll do:

* Assess, plan, coordinate and review patient care and discharge planning across adult and paediatric services, starting from admission

* Act as a key liaison between patients, families, clinicians and third‑party payers to support safe, effective and timely care

* Complete utilisation reviews and obtain authorisation for treatment and ongoing care

* Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions and coordinated care and discharge decisions

* Promote patient advocacy, effective resource use and high standards of documentation and communication

What you'll bring:

* NMC registration as an Adult Nurse, with substantial post‑registration experience and exposure to paediatric care

* Extensive inpatient bedside nursing experience across adult and paediatric services, or significant experience within the healthcare insurance industry in a clinical or case management capacity

* Proven experience of utilisation review and complex discharge planning

* Senior‑level clinical experience, typically at Band 6 or above, with evidence of leadership or management responsibility

* Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills, with confidence working independently and as part of a team
