Virtual Teacher, Accrington
Tradewind are recruiting for a Virtual Teacher to join our nurturing team at our Ofsted-rated 'Good' school in Accrington. This is a school-based role, working from our dedicated virtual learning classroom on-site - delivering online education to a small number of pupils who are learning from home or from other off-site provisions.
This role is part of our Alternative Provision offer, supporting KS3 and KS4 who are often transitioning from Elective Home Education (EHE), or who need support before re-integrating into classroom-based learning.
You'll be joining a school that takes a trauma-informed, nurture-first approach to education.
Our Provision:
* Pupils are taught in small nurture groups of 2-4 or via 1:1 online delivery.
* One dedicated Virtual Teaching Room with appropriate tech and support on-site.
* Calm, quiet campus, ideal for pupils with ASC, SEMH, anxiety, or those returning from Home Education.
* A creative, therapeutic curriculum including:
o Equine Therapy
o Feelings & Emotions-Based Therapy (KS3 & KS4)
* Individualised learning plans that meet both EHCP and emotional development targets.
About the Role:
* Deliver live virtual lessons to pupils learning from home or medical/respite provision.
* Teach a broad curriculum with a creative, flexible approach.
* Develop trusting relationships with pupils and families, providing a safe and predictable virtual learning space.
* Track engagement and progress, liaising closely with onsite staff and external agencies where required.
We're Looking For:
* A qualified teacher (QTS or QTLS) - ECTs welcome, full support provided.
* A confident and compassionate educator with experience or strong interest in:
o SEND
o SEMH
o Alternative Provision
o Home Education transitions
* Someone who can build rapport and deliver structure remotely, using platforms like Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.
