Teacher of Social Science or Humanities
Location: Northampton | Contract: Full-time | Start Date: September 2025
Teaching Personnel is proud to be partnering with a thriving secondary school in Northampton to recruit a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Social Science or Humanities.
We are seeking an individual with a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, who can inspire students and contribute to a safe, organised, and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Promote and maintain an environment that adheres to health and safety requirements.
* Lead the assessment and review of health and safety procedures and support technical staff in safe practice.
* Ensure appropriate storage, handling, and disposal of materials including hazardous substances in line with COSHH and CLEAPPS regulations.
* Manage stock levels, maintain equipment, and oversee purchasing within the department.
* Provide technical advice and support, including the preparation and demonstration of practical resources.
* Carry out risk assessments and ensure all activities and equipment are compliant with current health and safety standards.
* Support practical science lessons, offering demonstrations and assisting with experiments.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Strong awareness of standard procedures and safety regulations (including COSHH).
* Proficiency with ICT, particularly Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent planning, organisational skills, and adaptability.
* Experience in preparing practical demonstrations and supporting classroom delivery.
* A current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one.
