Private Sector Housing Team Leader - EH0308
Part Time – Thursdays and Fridays
We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated and results driven individual to lead the Private Sector Housing Team and deliver quality services to our residents and businesses. This will be a job share arrangement and you will be required to work 2 full days, on Thursdays and Fridays. Possessing an extensive knowledge of the relevant legislation, codes of practice and guidance, you will ensure that the council undertakes and meets all relevant and associated obligations within disabled facilities grants, housing conditions, home improvement loans, HMO licensing, empty properties, and caravan site licensing.
You will need a qualification in Environmental Health and in particular detailed knowledge and experience in the area of disabled facilities grants as well the regulatory private sector housing work areas. Ideally you will also have experience in a supervisory role however we are able to support someone looking to take their first step into a more senior position.
You should be committed to delivering excellent customer service and building and maintaining effective relationships with officers, members and other key stakeholders and partners to resolve problems effectively. Excellent communication, negotiation and mediation skills are essential.
You will be able to demonstrate a track record of dealing with complex cases, contributing to business process improvement, and leading by example.
The position will comprise a hybrid style of working, as a mix of both home and office-based working, to suit the work / life balance of the successful applicant.
