A1 Jobs have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Assistant to join our client a well-established accountancy firm in Glasgow. This is a stable, hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for running payrolls for a varied client base, ensuring compliance and accuracy at every stage. You’ll be trusted to manage your own portfolio while working alongside supportive colleagues in a straightforward, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: Management of a diverse portfolio of clients in full compliance with all legislative matters End-to-end payroll processing, including handling complex payrolls and applying relevant legislation Administration of auto enrollment, including re-enrollment Keeping up to date with payroll and taxation legislation Using Excel for data analysis and payroll reporting Prioritising tasks to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy Communicating clearly with clients and colleagues Managing client expectations and resolving queries It is essential that you have at least 2 or 3 years of experience in a practice within a payroll focused position. You should be confident managing your own workload, well-organised, and have a strong grasp of current payroll legislation. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are important Proficiency in Excel is expected, and experience with Sage Payroll or BrightPay would be an advantage, though not essential.
