Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Leicester
We are working with a global, innovative engineering business that designs and develops cutting‑edge instrumentation solutions for a range of industries including aerospace, defence, medical, automotive, energy, and beyond. Their products are highly complex pieces of machinery, with a high level of precision and accuracies needed in their design and production.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a forward‑thinking R&D team, playing a key role in the design, validation, and delivery of advanced systems and products.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
* Own the design and validation of mechanical subassemblies from concept to production.
* Define mechanical performance specifications from system requirements.
* Deliver design reviews, supporting manufacturing, assembly, and service introduction.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
* Work closely with cross‑functional teams including operations and business development.
What You’ll Bring
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years’ experience in end‑to‑end product design.
* Strong track record in product design and small mechanisms.
* Knowledge of drives, controls, materials, and manufacturing processes.
* Proficiency in Solidworks/CAD and MS Office.
* Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and practical engineering skills.
