CYPMHS West Herts is seeking an inspiring Community Team Leader who is a highly skilled, motivated practitioner with the appropriate professional qualifications and experience to work within a multidisciplinary team. The position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, and permanent.
The Community Team Leader will work across two sites, St Albans and Hemel Hempstead. Our vibrant team supports children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs, including complex trauma and attachment issues, affecting their mental health. Candidates should have an in-depth understanding of neurodiversity and be able to identify reasonable adjustments to support service users.

The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering child and adolescent mental health services aligned with CYP-IAPT principles. You will collaborate with the CYPMHS Operational Manager and Clinical Team Leader to lead the service, ensuring high-quality care. You will have opportunities to influence team and service development, understand KPIs, and manage throughput based on CAP, a service transformation model used in CYPMHS.
The role requires sensitivity to diverse family backgrounds, including single parents, same-sex couples, extended families, foster carers, and individuals with mental health difficulties. You will act as a care coordinator when appropriate, developing and reviewing care plans, coordinating multidisciplinary interventions, and communicating effectively with children, carers, and professionals.
Maintaining a professional profile in accordance with post-registration requirements is essential.
