Assistant Site Manager — Permanent
Location: Kent (project locations are up to 45 minutes commute from home location and all within Kent). Start Date: May / June 2026. Salary: £ competitive + package.
The Company is a well‑established regional main contractor delivering new build and refurbishment projects across multiple sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, heritage and residential. Projects are typically valued up to £10 m and delivered through Design & Build and Traditional procurement routes.
The Role
* Manage and coordinate subcontractors, including envelope and internal fit‑out.
* Raise RFIs on design queries.
* Produce short‑term construction programmes for packages.
* Manage project health & safety.
* Inspect and sign off works to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements using the company’s QA system (Site Audit Pro).
* Handle materials requisitions.
* Manage direct site labour.
About You
The client is seeking an Assistant Site Manager with several years of experience who can lead subcontractors. Ideal candidates will:
* Have experience delivering projects and previous experience of working on projects from ground up to handover.
* Be able to run packages autonomously.
* Possess strong client‑facing and stakeholder communication skills.
* Be confident working on projects that involve public interaction.
* Show versatility to handle future projects ranging from care homes and commercial schemes to heritage refurbishments.
Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 in Supervision (or equivalent). CSCS Supervisor, CSCS Manager (Black) or CSCS Academically Qualified Person (White) card.
* SMSTS certification.
* First Aid at Work certification.
* Valid driver’s licence.
Location & Travel
Candidates should ideally live within Kent and be willing to travel up to 45 minutes to project sites across the county.
