Principal Electrical Engineer
Wintech’s Building Services team is recruiting for a Chartered Principal Electrical Engineer to join the Market Harborough office. The role reports to the Director of Building Services and focuses on providing Electrical Engineering Consultancy services, managing projects and directly liaising with clients and other stakeholders to meet expectations and drive the company’s success.
About the Opportunity
As a key member of the team, you will drive engineering excellence on projects valued up to £20M across diverse sectors, including Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial, Education, Hotels, Leisure, Manufacturing and Retail.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Design projects with MEP values up to £20M across multiple sectors.
* Design and specify all electrical aspects of projects, including electrical distribution, small power, fire alarm, lighting, security, etc.
* Undertake electrical distribution and lighting calculations.
* Represent the company at client and design team meetings.
* Manage the electrical design process for assigned projects.
Qualifications and Experience
* HND or Degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering.
* Chartered member of CIBSE or IET.
* 10 years’ experience (preferable) within a consultancy or contracting organisation.
* Extensive knowledge of relevant British Standards, CIBSE Guidance and IET Wiring Regulations.
* Experience with Amtech and Relux or similar software.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
* Capability to manage junior design staff and CAD resources independently.
* Analytical, focused approach with strong work ethic.
* Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
