About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to lead one of the UK's leading M&E Subcontractors the delivery of mechanical works for a high-specification laboratory construction project in Norwich. This is a pivotal site-based role overseeing all mechanical installation activities, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all on-site mechanical construction activities, including HVAC, plumbing, BMS, specialist gases, and process systems.
* Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, ensuring work aligns with design specifications, safety requirements, and project schedules.
* Liaise closely with the Project Manager, Design Team, and Client representatives to ensure seamless integration across disciplines.
* Oversee quality control, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
* Monitor progress, manage site documentation, and report regularly on key metrics.
* Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards in accordance with company and statutory requirements.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manage or Senior Mechanical Engineer on complex construction or laboratory/cleanroom projects.
* Strong technical understanding of building services and mechanical systems.
* Demonstrable experience coordinating subcontractors and managing fast-paced site environments.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services).
* SMSTS, CSCS, and first aid certification desirable.
