More than a traditional retail store, TALES House is designed as a storytelling and discovery space where customers engage with products, people, culture, and experiences in an immersive and memorable way. The space combines retail, community, content, and culture to create a unique in‑person and digital brand experience.
The space operates 7 days a week (approx. 10 am–8 pm) with a small, close‑knit team.
Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Retail Store Lead to join our dynamic team! In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily store operations, lead a team of retail associates, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. Your leadership will drive sales, manage inventory, and uphold store standards, creating a vibrant shopping environment that encourages growth and loyalty. Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise store staff, providing guidance, training, and motivation to achieve sales goals and maintain high performance standards.
* Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, POS transactions, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
* Oversee inventory management by conducting stock checks, controlling inventory levels, and coordinating purchasing and merchandising efforts.
* Implement effective sales strategies through product placement, promotional activities, and customer engagement to maximize revenue.
* Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members while fostering a positive work environment focused on employee development and retention.
* Handle customer inquiries with professionalism via phone etiquette and in‑person interactions; resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
* Maintain accurate records of payroll, bookkeeping, sales reports, and store budgets while managing administrative tasks efficiently.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s in Marketing, Management, or other related courses.
* Previous retail, showroom, or customer‑facing experience (supervisor or assistant manager level preferred).
* Confident in taking ownership in a small team environment.
* Proactive, organised, and detail‑oriented.
* Comfortable working in a dynamic, multi‑brand retail environment.
* Proven supervisory or assistant manager experience within retail environments; strong leadership skills are essential.
* Demonstrated expertise in retail math, including pricing, sales management, budgeting, and cash handling.
* Proficiency with POS systems, inventory control software, and basic bookkeeping tools.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast‑paced setting.
* Experience in merchandising, stock management, marketing initiatives, and promotional planning is preferred.
* Ability to lead by example with a focus on customer service excellence and team development.
