Job Overview

The Pharmacist Network (TPN) is a pharmacist‑led primary care organisation providing clinical and operational services to GP practices, Primary Care Networks (PCNs), and NHS partners across England. We are seeking experienced Primary Care Regional Managers to lead service delivery across 20–30 primary care contracts in the South West, Reading, Birmingham, and Swindon areas. This is a senior primary care leadership role, well suited to those currently working as a PCN Business Manager, Practice Manager, Primary Care Operations Manager, or Multi‑site Primary Care Lead who are looking to progress into a regional leadership position. The postholder will provide operational and clinical oversight across a defined region, managing performance, workforce, compliance, and NHS stakeholder relationships – all with the support of a fast‑growing organisation and a clear, transparent commission structure.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Lead and oversee clinical and non‑clinical operations across 20–30 primary care contracts.
* Provide visible, day‑to‑day regional leadership across all GP practice and PCN contracts.
* Implement and maintain organisational standards, clinical pathways, and service protocols.
* Work with clinical leads to drive continuous service improvement across the region.
* Line manage Senior Pharmacists and Lead Pharmacists across multiple sites.
* Lead workforce planning, recruitment, rota management, and succession planning.
* Conduct appraisals, support PDPs, and ensure all staff meet mandatory training requirements.
* Build high‑performing, motivated regional teams through visible leadership and regular engagement.
* Monitor KPIs, financial performance, and service delivery metrics across the region.
* Ensure full compliance with CQC standards – safe, effective, caring, responsive, well‑led.
* Oversee audit cycles, incident management, complaints handling, and corrective actions.
* Provide regular, data‑driven performance updates to the Managing Director.
* Build strong, trusted relationships with GP Practices, PCNs, ICBs, and NHS commissioners.
* Represent TPN professionally in all regional and system‑level interactions.
* Identify opportunities for service growth, contract expansion, and commercial development.
* Support the scaling of successful service models and contribute to wider organisational strategy.

Person Specification

* Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.
* Minimum 3 years in a senior operational or leadership role within primary care.
* Demonstrable, hands‑on experience working in GP practices, PCNs, or wider NHS primary care settings.
* Proven experience managing multi‑site or multi‑contract teams.
* Strong working knowledge of NHS structures, PCN operations, and primary care service delivery.
* Experience in performance management, workforce planning, and rota oversight.
* Demonstrable experience in risk management, clinical governance, and quality assurance.
* Ability to lead, motivate, and manage senior clinical and operational staff.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the allocated region weekly.

* Background in healthcare operations, medicines optimisation, or clinical service management.
* Previous experience in a regional, system‑level, or multi‑contract leadership position.
* Registered healthcare professional (advantageous but not essential).
* Established network across GP practices or PCNs in the relevant region.

* Base Salary: £48,000 per annum.
* Performance‑Related Pay: OTE £8,000–£10,000 (uncapped – no ceiling on earnings).
* Travel expenses fully reimbursed.
