Our Highways Bridges team has a requirement for an Associate Technical Director (Bridges) to work from our Glasgow or Edinburgh offices. The successful Associate Technical Director (Bridges) will be a chartered / incorporated Structural Engineer with significant experience in Bridge Engineering, design, assessment or project management. Job Description You will take full responsibility for all aspects of technical coordination, integration and quality ensuring all project and client objectives are met. You will also assist the Project Manager to achieve the commercial performance outcomes of the project, sharing responsibility for work planning, forecasting, identification of change events and programming of the project. You will need to drive technical collaboration with stakeholders and other external parties ensure the integrity of the overall design and take responsibility to ensure all necessary quality assurance requirements are met across all contributing technical disciplines. You will take responsibility for ensuring the sharing of all Digital Design Information across all disciplines and take responsibility for the consistent application of technical methodologies across all disciplines to deliver project requirements and drive project performance. Key Accountabilities Experience of providing technical leadership and advice on a Structural Engineering project Experience of applying sound independent engineering judgement across different disciplines Have excellent personal and social skills Demonstrate sound experience of holistic decision making in a complex project Demonstrate exceptional delegation skills Qualifications & Experience Have a BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in Structural / Civil Engineering Achieved Chartered or Incorporated Engineer professional status, or equivalent Minimum ten years in the design, assesment & inspection of Bridges or similar structures Have previous significant experience including supervision of or bidding for large, complex projects Why Arcadis?
