Recruiting on behalf of our client an Insurance Broker
We are working with a small, friendly organisation of around 25+ staff to recruit an IT Support Assistant who will provide hands-on support across the business. This role offers the chance to work closely with the IT Manager and Operations Director, delivering personalised, 1-to-1 IT support rather than working in a high-volume ticketing environment.
This position is perfect for someone with IT support experience, or a recent IT graduate who is keen to grow in a varied and supportive setting.
Location
1. Office based near Liverpool Street Station, London
2. 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home
Key Responsibilities
Working directly with team members across the business, you will assist with:
1st Line Support & IT Operations
3. Providing 1-to-1 support in a Microsoft Windows environment
4. Hardware and software troubleshooting
5. Supporting Windows 10/11 and Windows Server +
6. Maintaining Windows updates
7. O and Azure Cloud Services support
8. Azure AD administration
9. Basic network support (switches, WiFi mesh)
10. Printer support (Canon) and PaperCut management
11. Monitoring backups via Veeam (Backup & Replication)
12. Basic firewall support (Cisco preferable)
13. Cybersecurity checks and ensuring Cyber Essentials compliance
14. Auditing shared drives and permissions
15. SQL Server support (SSRS beneficial)
16. Telephony support (BT One Phone advantageous)
Daily Tasks
17. Verify overnight backups and routines
18. Monitor server and firewall status
19. Ensure internet connectivity and network resilience
20. Support users with day-to-day IT queries
Other Regular Tasks
21. System maintenance
22. Running reports
23. Enforcing password policy
24. Maintaining hardware and peripheral equipment
What We're Looking For
25. Experience in IT support OR recent IT/computer science graduate
26. Strong communication skills with a personable, customer-focused approach
27. Comfortable working directly with users rather than just through a helpdesk
28. Interest in learning new technologies and developing professionally
29. Ability to prioritise tasks and maintain accuracy and reliability
30. Proactive, positive attitude
