Key Duties
* Ensure the effective delivery of the overall maintenance service to maintain high standards within all College buildings and external areas, under the management of the Facilities Manager.
* Take responsibility for day-to-day maintenance work related to the upkeep and improvement of the College’s Estate across all sites.
* Provide a quality general maintenance service, prioritising work and ensuring it is dealt with efficiently in line with health and safety requirements.
* Deal with faults and maintenance requests effectively in conjunction with the Facilities Manager.
* Assist with refurbishment projects of College buildings as required, in collaboration with the Facilities Manager.
* Maintain tools and equipment in good repair and ensure their safe keeping.
* Complete relevant risk assessments in conjunction with the Facilities Manager.
* Work as part of the Facilities team to ensure high standards of service for students and staff, adapting to the College’s evolving needs.
* Communicate effectively with the Facilities team and relevant staff across the College, including external suppliers, to ensure efficient maintenance and upkeep.
* Observe Health and Safety/Fire Regulations, ensuring hazards/defects are addressed and areas maintained in compliance.
* Conduct College Fire Drills and testing, ensuring documentation is completed accurately.
* Assist with driving College or hire vehicles as needed.
* Be fully familiar with and observe College’s equality, diversity, and safeguarding policies to ensure the safety and welfare of all learners and staff.
* Participate actively in the College’s appraisal scheme and staff development programs.
* Perform any other duties reasonably expected, commensurate with grade and status.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
* Proven practical experience in a range of trades within Estates and Facilities environments.
* Trustworthy, honest, and reliable.
