Job Description
The Financial Controller will have a wide range of duties including:
* Provide leadership to the small finance team
* Ensure all financial transactions, systems and procedures comply with regulations, accounting standards and best practice
* Oversee the production of monthly management accounts
* Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors
* Develop and manage budgets across the organisation
* Produce financial reports and statements for senior management and the board
* Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems
* Participate in strategic planning and decision-making at the management level
The Successful Applicant
A successful 'Financial Controller' should have:
* A professional qualification in accountancy (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards
* Proven leadership skills within a finance team
* Experience in the not-for-profit sector is desirable
* Knowledge of charity accounting
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficient in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
