Pay: £103 - £110 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: Asap
Contract: Long term to permanent
About the Role
Long Term Futures is working with a small, specialist SEMH school in the LE8 area to recruit a Teaching Assistant. The school supports pupils who have found mainstream education challenging, offering a calm, structured and nurturing environment with very small class sizes and high levels of support.
Pupils follow a personalised curriculum that blends academic learning with outdoor activities and wellbeing focused sessions. Strong relationships, clear routines and consistency are central to helping pupils regulate emotions, build confidence and re-engage with learning.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Support emotional regulation, routines and positive behaviour strategies
Assist learning across classroom based, outdoor and practical activities
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Follow individual support plans and contribute to progress tracking
Encourage confidence, resilience, independence and engagement
What We're Looking For
Experience supporting children or young people (education, care, youth work, mentoring, coaching, sports or similar)
Confidence managing behaviour in a calm, consistent and supportive way
A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
