Key Account Manager - North UK
Location: North UK, (remote role with regional travel required).
Reporting to: Regional Business Manager – Sales.
An established organisation within the diagnostics and healthcare sector is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to drive new business growth across a defined territory, supporting the sales of its autoimmunity diagnostics portfolio. This field-based role is focused on identifying, winning, and converting new opportunities, before developing those customers into long-term strategic accounts.
The Role
* Proactively identify, target, and win new business opportunities for the autoimmunity portfolio;
* Develop and execute territory plans with a strong emphasis on market entry, prospecting, and competitive displacement;
* Lead complex, long-term tender processes from opportunity identification through to successful award;
* Build relationships with new customers and stakeholders up to senior decision-making level;
* Transition newly won business into well-managed strategic accounts, ensuring long-term growth and retention;
* Achieve agreed revenue and profitability targets aligned to growth objectives;
* Act as the primary customer contact, coordinating internal expertise to deliver a high-quality customer experience;
* Prepare and support pricing, quotations, bids, and tender submissions;
* Maintain accurate CRM records to support forecasting and sales reporting.
The Person
* Degree-level education (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline such as biology, chemistry, or laboratory medicine;
* Proven track record in sales within IVD, medical devices, and/or diagnostics;
* Demonstrated success in winning competitive tenders and displacing incumbent suppliers;
* Experience selling capital equipment and consumables;
* Strong commercial acumen with excellent communication and influencing skills;
* Highly self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable operating autonomously in a field-based role.
