An opportunity has arisen within the Mental Health Assessment Unit. We are looking for a highly motivated nurse to join our team.
Crisis services (including Braeside, MHAT, OOH's triage, night NTL's & OOH's CPN's) are currently undergoing organisational change. You will be part of service developments aimed at enhancing crisis services, such as on-site assessments within persons' localities or homes, and joint working with SAS and Police Scotland for joint response and assessments.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in assessing major mental illnesses or distress. You should be able to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating sound clinical decision-making skills.
The post holder will assess mental state and relevant risks, including suicide, self-harm, and violence, within holistic assessments. Some assessments may be nurse-led, others joint with medical colleagues, including police S297 assessments. The team provides a 24/7 triage service to Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service, and NHS24.
You will be expected to work a 24-hour shift pattern. Part-time work will be considered.
For informal enquiries, contact Lesley Smith, Clinical Area Manager, via email: lesley.smith13@nhs.scot.
