JOB TITLE: Lead Software Engineer (Full Stack)
SALARY: £92,701 - £109,060 per annum
LOCATION(S): Edinburgh
HOURS: Full-time – 35 hours per week
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh office.

A highly visible technical role leading a team of engineers within the API & Digital Services Platform. Working in a cross-disciplinary team we're looking for individuals who can turn requirements into reality.
We're building a next generation API Gateway, API Marketplace and API Compliance for the Bank that will enable a deeper, richer connection to our customers.
To help us drive this transformation we're searching for engineers with a passion for making a difference. Someone who can translate business requirements into technical solutions that are elegant and complete.
Our Software Engineers Team Leaders are passionate about ensuring the services, both internal and external that have extreme reliability, security, resiliency, architectural simplicity while continually seeking to find improvements.
The nature of the work is very varied and innovative but with a focus on developing our flagship React + Cloud based API Marketplace product.
What you’ll do
1. Lead a Feature Team delivering features on our flagship products.
2. Implementing software engineering best practices to deliver exciting and innovative software within the API team.
3. Develop solutions that support a consistent approach for delivering our technical strategy.
4. Collaborate using Agile frameworks methodologies, to optimise team development process and give rapid feedback working iteratively.

What you’ll need
5. Detailed knowledge and experience of Software engineering and processes, to be able to confidently design and implement solutions.
6. Strong programming skills in one or more programming languages such React, CSS, HTML, Typescript, Node.js.
7. In depth knowledge of developing and managing API solutions, including REST and GraphQL and microservices.
8. Exposure to an API Management Platform would be a bonus (eg: ApigeeX, API Connect or similar).
9. Knowledge of Cyber security and techniques to build secure and robust solutions.
10. Cloud technologies and infrastructure are essential you will have exposure on at least one of the 3 main cloud providers Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
11. Strong communication and collaboration skills are also essential.
