Job Description
To ensure the clinic is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with infection control guidelines. The Cleaner plays a vital role in supporting a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Clean all areas of the clinic including consultation rooms, waiting areas, reception, offices, toilets, kitchen/staff areas, and corridors.
* Disinfect frequently touched surfaces (e.g. door handles, light switches, phones).
* Refill soap dispensers, toilet paper, paper towels, and other supplies.
* Empty bins and dispose of general waste appropriately.
* Use appropriate cleaning materials and equipment safely and in line with COSHH regulations.
* Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
* Report any maintenance issues, damage, or hazards to your Manager.
* Maintain cleaning records and checklists accurately.
* Ensure confidentiality and respect for the privacy of all patients and staff.
Essential:
* Previous experience in a cleaning role (preferably in a healthcare or similar environment).
* Understanding of infection control and hygiene standards.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Good attention to detail.
* Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
* Basic understanding of spoken and written English.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety regulations.
* Experience working in a medical or clinical setting.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Uniform and full training will be provided.
