The primary goal of the Sustainability Scheme Manager is to support the Carbon & Sustainability Services Director in building and leading a successful team, overseeing activities to ensure success, compliance with procedures and regulations, and expanding industry-leading sustainability services. The role involves increasing visibility within existing and new client bases and the broader sustainability sector. The role's scope will evolve with NQA’s strategic development in sustainability.
This role will involve working across NQA’s Carbon and Sustainability portfolio, including Chain of Custody, Supply Chain Services, and PEFC, to strengthen and expand our service offerings, establishing NQA as a global leader in Carbon and Sustainability services.
The market for sustainability is rapidly growing and changing. The role requires proactive engagement with the team, sector, and stakeholders to ensure effective management and raise the profile of the organization and the individual.
The role includes direct line management of four NQA management positions.
Location
Location is flexible. We consider fully remote, on-site, or hybrid working arrangements. Willingness to travel to offices, client sites, and other locations is expected.
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (environmental, sustainability, business management, etc.)
* At least 2 years’ certification or industry experience
* Interest and enthusiasm for sustainability and carbon verification schemes
* Completion and passing of a relevant Lead Auditor/Verifier course (EMS, EnMS, GHG, CoC/Supply Chain schemes, etc.)

* IT literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel, customer databases)

* Confident, outgoing, with excellent customer service skills
* Self-starter with good attention to detail
* Reliable, prompt, and accurate
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to build relationships and manage performance
* Knowledge of management standards and verification processes
* Experience in auditing, verification, and management systems
* Workplace experience in sustainability and TIC industry
* Strategic thinking skills
* Understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks
* Experience in public speaking at industry events
