The role
We are looking for a Community Activism Lead to grow activism amongst families of deaf children and volunteers so that they can shape the future of the services deaf children depend on.
What you'll do
- Develop models and strategies for activism at a local, community level, innovating and learning from best practices and relationship building in the sector
- Collaborate with Community Connectors and Advice and Guidance Officers in providing support to families and professionals to take collective action
- Provide direction to the Digital Campaigning Specialist and Campaigning Officer, and ensure alignment across our campaigning activities
- Exploring and developing recommendations for the role of volunteers in providing support for local activism
- Collaborating with our communications team to develop compelling messaging, materials and targeted engagement
What you'll need
- Proven ability to design and deliver successful influencing campaigns
- Knowledge of the latest approaches to engaging people with campaigns
- Excellent interpersonal skills, adept at maintaining relationships at all levels
- Good knowledge of devolution and political systems and structures across the UK
- Strong digital skills and a sound understanding of agile values & principles
- A criminal record check / DBS disclosure (if offered the position)
