About The Role
EKFB is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in the Aylesbury Area. Due to the remote location of this role, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required to get to and from work.
* Carry out tasks independently and, at times, lead a small group of commercial staff
* Perform periodical duties and one-off tasks in line with deadlines set by the Senior Commercial team
* Prepare and agree variation accounts for main contracts and sub-contracts
* Monitor costs against targets and contract progress against approved programmes and work plans with other team disciplines
* Provide input into change control procedures for EOT, delays and performance adjustment
* Prepare and agree interim valuations, final valuations and final accounts for main contracts and sub-contracts
* Manage costs in line with budget with explanations for variances and actions to address over/under spend
* Provide contractual advice to management and ensure compliance with contract and legal administration obligations, including timely issue of relevant notices
* Negotiate and progress resolution of disputes
* Identify potential commercial risks and evaluate options for control and management
About You
* Qualified with a Quantity Surveying degree or similar
* Enrolled in, or seeking membership of, a relevant professional institution (CICES, RICS or similar)
* Working knowledge of NEC contracts including options A, B and C
* Experience of self-delivery works
* Experience within a civil engineering contractor environment is essential
* Understanding of cost and time
* The ability to listen, learn and take on board new concepts and carry out actions, whilst mentoring junior team members
* Hold a full driving licence
