Role – Mechanical Design Engineer role
Location – Mildenhall, Suffolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday – Full time hours
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Salary – Paying up to £38,000 per annum
Our client is a leading manufacturer who is looking to add to their design team with a competent Solidworks industrial designer who is used to working with 3D Practises.
Main duties will include -
•Leading the design and development of production tooling and fixtures, working closely with manufacturing and senior engineers
•Creating and refining tooling using toolroom/workshop-based machinery
•Managing small-scale projects and ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
•Producing technical documentation including drawings, part lists, and usage instructions
•Assisting in the development of product test methods, including data analysis
•Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams such as Quality and Sales
•Occasionally travelling within the UK or internationally to support project implementation
Candidate attributes -
•Strong hands-on experience with toolroom/workshop machinery
•Working knowledge of 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks)
•Either a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design, or a time-served background in Tool Design or Toolmaking
•Excellent communication and documentation skills (MS Office & Adobe tools)
•A self-starter with a practical approach and attention to detail
