Leader Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a welcoming SEND school in Ashington. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people with autism and additional needs.
This role is Monday‑Friday 8:30–3:30.
About the Role
* Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with autism.
* Help create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
* Support the development of communication, social skills, and independence.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to tailor support to individual needs.
* Promote inclusion and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience supporting children or young people with autism (school or care setting).
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A genuine passion for supporting SEND students.
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
