Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Band 6 Physiotherapist within our Unscheduled Care team based at University Hospital Ayr.
What you will do:
Clinical
To deliver high quality physiotherapy care to service users within the Unscheduled Care specialty.
Management
To provide support to the Physiotherapy Team Lead in managing and delivering an efficient, equitable and responsive Physiotherapy service.
May include:
· Act as a specialised physiotherapist with knowledge
· Assess and treat adults with multiple co-morbidities, which require admission to hospital or physiotherapy intervention in their own home.
· Conditions treated include, but are not limited to: falls, reduced mobility, new cardiac event, following detox from alcohol, renal issues, respiratory issues
· Treatments will include, but are not limited to: mobility practice, provision of new walking aid, respiratory chest clearance techniques, therapeutic handling, discharge planning, physical activity, movement and exercise
· Engage at a local and national level with relevant clinical interest, policy development and service development groups, which may include: Bariatric equipment, Frail elderly, PJ paralysis, Falls pathway
· Reduce Physical ill-health symptoms through physiotherapy specific interventions
· Improve flow of patients through healthcare system with timely physiotherapy interventions

Hours:
37 hours per week, 5 days over 7.
Participation in on-call rota is a requirement of this role.
This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Full UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
