Data Engineer Stockport Hybrid Up to £40,000 *Snowflake / Power BI / SQL* If youre looking for a data transformation project to get your teeth stuck into, they dont get much better than this. Were looking for a Data Engineer to join the analytics team of an ever-growing FinTech specialist, with a big project lined up. The project: Migrating from a traditional SQL data warehouse to a Cloud based, Snowflake set up Youll be involved from day one and will play a key role in the project Data is currently expertly managed and maintained, giving the team a great starting point Once Snowflake is in place, the next focus will be to build Power BI semantic models This will lead on to the development of Power BI dashboards and reporting a tool they are already using Third party data sources will also be a focus, Google Analytics in particular Accessible data sets, thin reports, and self-serve reporting is the end goal This is a hugely important role, as a FinTech, data is key for them, they are constantly looking to improve and this is going to significantly aid further growth and turnover. *This is a hybrid role with a requirement for two office days each week their office space is in central Stockport with parking and public transport on their doorstep* The role will involve: Snowflake set up, roll out and connecting with relevant tools and platforms Power BI building reporting suites, dashboards, semantic models/datasets etc. Requirements gathering working across the business to understand reporting needs Defining processes, creating documentation and ensuring validity Enabling self-serve reporting thin reports, shared datasets Plus SQL querying, failure management and change control Were looking to bring in external Snowflake skills, you will champion this area and be fluent with using Snowflake alongside Power BI. Previous migration experience isnt required, youll work closely with the in-house software and IT teams on this, however you need to be experienced in using Snowflake and able to lead the team on the benefits it can bring AI, LLMs etc. They are at the very beginning of this project so you can be fully involved from start to finish and autonomy will be in abundance here.
