Job Specification Job Role: H&S Manager Location: Artic Head Office (site visits) Hours: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm Start Date: Duration: Reporting To: Artic Building Services Ltd is an established and recognised leader within the M&E and Facilities Management sector. Via our standards and reputation within this industry we have successfully attained a solid foundation of varied blue-chip clients both commercial and public. The H&S Manager main purpose is to provide health and safety focus to the company and to work with the operations teams to improve the company’s current health and safety systems, and to work closely with the site teams to bring improvement and change. They would be working in a small team to manage the ISO 45001 for the business which requires someone organised and confident. They will also be responsible for all of the accreditations Artic is a member of. The aim of the H&S Manager is to ensure the efficient and satisfactory functionality of the ISO 45001 standard of Artic to guarantee smooth running of the business. They will be accountable for all measurement, management and implementation of Artic’s Health and Safety policies. Skills Required: Organised Confident Pro-active Due diligent / Accurate Work well in a team and individually Efficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Experience with ISO 45001 desirable Have good people skills and be able to manage engineers Hold a Full UK Driving Licence (for site visits) Qualifications: NEBOSH Certificate Level 3 - required NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) Level 6 - Desirable Job Duties: ISO 45001 · Management of ISO 45001 standard (H&S) · Updating internal documents · Conducting site audits to identify potential hazards · Liaising with external H&S consultants · Tracking of H&S items throughout the company (including progression of non-conformities etc) · Management of toolbox talks – issuing and tracking · Tracking of engineer H&S KPI’s · Internal audits · Annual external audits · Communications to the team · Investigating incidents, accidents and near misses to determine root causes · Developing and implementing H&S policies and procedures · Management review · SWOT analysis · HSEQ meetings · Conducting risk assessments · Objectives and targets · Ensuring compliance with relevant H&S laws and regulations · Liaising with regulatory authorities to stay up to date with industry standards · Managing emergency procedures, such as evacuation and first aid · Reporting on H&S performance and improvements to senior management · Foster a strong safety culture across the company · Promote company values in all dealings with other employees, clients, sub-contractors, and other external contacts · Support the development of measurement systems to ensures H&S performance are accurately monitored Accreditations · Annual renewal of accreditations · Tracking of accreditation items · Obtaining new accreditations Other · Signing off Purchase Invoices · Monthly Updates · Covering other members of the team when on AL · Purchasing · Assisting the operations department Health and Safety: As a member of the team, you will be required to fulfil our legal duty to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions, and to follow all guidance and instructions given in this respect.
