Sports Teaching Assistant – Newcastle
Salary: £85–£110 per day
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing
Contract: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent
GSL Education is looking for an energetic and active Sports Teaching Assistant to support pupils across a vibrant Newcastle school. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for PE, coaching, fitness, or youth sport development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support PE lessons, sports activities, and movement-based interventions
* Assist with the setup of equipment, warm-ups, and lesson preparation
* Provide 1:1 or small-group support for students who benefit from physical activity
* Encourage teamwork, confidence, and positive engagement during sports sessions
* Promote school values, behaviour expectations, and safeguarding procedures
Requirements:
* Background in sport, fitness, coaching, or youth work
* Confident leading activities and motivating pupils
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
